The foundation of what has been know as authorship---writing, rendering, thinking--- has been profoundly rattled by the mainstreaming of artificial intelligence and once bedrock preconceptions of intellectual originality, of research, of authenticity and interpretation are challenged. In photographic thinking, the historical assumption of the factual root of the photograph, once eroding, has briskly, breathlessly vanished. It seems now an ancient shibboleth.
